I’m such an advocate for the underdog, especially when they are as talented as Elliott Yamin. This American Idol alum is charting his own path, and his severely-underrated 2012 album Lets Get To What’s Real is proof of that.
My favorite of the set is the first track, entitled “Gather ‘Round”. This tune is an instant party-starter for grown folks.
I love soul music, but even more than that, I love when artists are authentic to themselves.
