In light of all the injustice happening in the US and around the world, I decided to re-record a tune I’ve covered in the past for this month’s edition of the CVRD audioseries.
“Goodbye Apathy” is a song from OneRepublic’s debut album Dreaming Out Loud. Its unconventional song structure caught my attention, but the lyrics pulled me in.
I first covered it in 2011, right after the Occupy Oakland incidents of 2011 (and right after I unknowingly bruised my vocal cord). With everything that’s going on, especially in the last few weeks, I felt it was the perfect tune to revamp and re-release.
